Hey, Gem! Check this out. Let me tell you about this woman I know…

So, There’s this Woman I Know x Shanice

She was married to a man for eight years. Gave him all she had—all her love, energy, patience, beyond a shadow of a doubt trust, and two beautiful children. Suddenly, he dropped the ball on their marriage. No explanation was given! He betrayed her. He stepped out on her with another woman, then left her and their kids to be with the woman he cheated with.

She begged him to stay until the point it broke her. She tried to salvage their marriage. She tried to hold on to their love and what they were previously building together—stability and a strong family foundation for their children. But he clearly had other plans. Somewhere along the way, he changed his mind and tore their family apart.

He promised her that she could depend on him. That she could trust him to provide for her and their children. Until one day, he chose another woman over them, leaving his wife, four-year-old son, and three-month-old daughter homeless and without.

Do you know what she did when reality set in? And, oh man, did reality set in quickly for her!

She got up!

Of course she cried. She got angry and even lashed out on social media, exposing their dirty laundry to their families and all of her followers—one of her wildest transparency moments to date. Nonetheless, she was determined to push through and be strong. Not only for herself but most definitely for her children. The most important part is, she got up!

With tears blurring her vision and a shattering heart practically cutting her chest up and weakening her insides, she got up and walked away from the chaos.

She promised herself that she’d never neglect herself for a man ever again. She realized that though love is selfless, she can’t be the only one in the relationship who gives her all.

Gem, here’s a necessary cliché that I wholeheartedly believe: know your worth and never settle for less than what you deserve. Your intuition is powerful. It’s embedded in you with such force that your mind, body, and soul alert you when something’s off. Always take heed to that intense feeling, and never, ever, ever let anyone make you feel less than the brilliant, beautiful, powerhouse woman you are. When they try to put you down, spring up before you hit the ground, and keep in mind that you are the prize.

After all, you are an immense treasure.

Sending you much, much love and insight into the resilient woman you are. - S
